Yep – you guessed it – another road trip this weekend! We’ll be heading out tomorrow night after work for Kansas City so Burl can attend a Shrine event. I’m swamped at work but have traded working Friday for coming back Saturday night instead of Sunday so I can have Sunday off and then work Monday. Sounds like fun, huh? Well not the work part but I want to be with Burl to support his Shrine unit participating in their mini-motorcycle drill team. Stay tuned for the results.
Last night we attended our final Springfield Cardinals game of the season – their last home game is early next week and then they are in the playoffs. We were treated to a tour of the club house (NOT the locker room!), the batting practice area, a walk around the entire field area and then got to watch the pre-game activities up close and personal. Following all that, we ate in the Club Lounge near the suites and then joined a friend in his suite to watch the game. We left after the 8th inning and fortunately they won – last week we left after the 8th and they were ahead and ended up losing!
Time to pack for the weekend – and then start thinking about our fall trip which will hopefully start in about a month. I’m ready!
