Today was “Magic Shampoo” and haircut day – which means the gray won’t be visible for a few weeks plus the blonde highlights look quite stunning. I had let my hair grow a bit over the winter and it was at the point where a bad hair day was the norm. My idea of a great hairstyle is one that takes 2 or less products and 2 or less minutes to deal with in the morning – for me, that translates to short hair.
I borrowed a few hairstyle magazines from Tammy and took them with me today, telling my stylist, Pat, that I liked part of this one, part of that one and don’t make the bangs quite as long as that one! She complied and I’m pleased with the results. It’s shorter than I’ve had in over a year and hopefully will work well under a helmet and be easy for the summer.
Only one downside – Burl hates it! Perhaps “hate” is too strong a word – but suffice it to say, he has not said one word about it. Now I know my dear hubby well enough to know that he will say nothing before he says an unkind word – which is a trait I will probably never acquire! I even said I knew he didn’t like it and he just grinned at me – staying stoically quiet lest he reveal his lack of like for my new “do”! As I always told my kids, it will grow – I just hope the style grows on him as I really like it. Time will tell……. Gosh I love that man!
Has Burl changed his mind about the new cut? I haven’t seen it, but you were due for some cutting. I think that shorter hair on you (and me) makes you look younger. Can’t wait to see it.
Yes, he has changed his mind – he said he was just surprised it was so much shorter and thought maybe I’d gone to someone else. Whatever – I think it was a good save on his part but he did say he liked it better than I had it last fall and winter and that it did make me look younger! Guess he gets to stay!
Sorry it was all messed up last night when I saw you. Looking forward to seeing it all styled and looking great.
