My daughter Tammy tagged me with revealing 7 random things about myself and then I am to tag 7 other people. Sounds easier than it really is – but I may be making it harder than I should because I’m thinking along the lines of 7 Things People Don’t Know About Me. But – here goes:
1. I’m really more of an introvert than an extrovert. Most people (including Burl) think I’m an extrovert but I really draw my energy from within and crave some solitude each day to regroup.
2. Before I met Burl I went 10 years without a TV. My picture tube went out one night and I made a mental note to go buy a new set and 3 weeks later realized I hadn’t even missed it so I saved my money. For a few years I stored a set from my parents’ estate for Ralph and Blair and when they visited, Blair would haul it up from the basement to watch Univ. of Iowa sports – and then return it to the basement.
3. I’ve only lived in 2 communities – Fulton, MO and Springfield, MO – done lots of traveling and have lived in 4 different homes in Fulton and 11 in Springfield.
4. I graduated with my B.S. along with my daughter – and it was on Mother’s Day – just glad it didn’t take her 25 years to get through college. Got my Master’s 5 years later.
5. Grandkids are tons more fun than your own kids. Just ask any grandparent.
6. I met my husband on the internet – and we got engaged 10 days later. We lived 6 miles apart and realized we had mutual acquaintences – and yes, it IS a small world.
7. I’ve ridden to both coasts on the back of our GoldWing. LaJolla, CA for the Pacific and Portland, ME for the Atlantic. So far we’ve been in 32 states.
