This week has flown – despite a plethora of “hurry up and wait” instances, frustrating minutes and long hours, it seems like it went by very quicly.  Fortunately Friday brought good news on a work project and I was home early (translation:  before 6:30 p.m.) so Mulligan got a walk.  I realized while out with my puppy that what I had really missed this week was quality “think” time which is when I mentally compose these ramblings – usually when I’m out with the mutt or on the step mill at the gym.  Needless to say, my physical exercise suffered this week and with it, my mental state.  The brightest spot occurred on the way to work Monday when I won the 20th anniversary DVD and soundtrack CD of “Dirty Dancing” on KBGX - got some great new tunes for my iPod and perhaps we’ll watch the movie tonight.

A certain spoiled brat (whose name will NOT appear in this blog) will hopefully soon be serving time in the slammer.  Suffice it to say she was NOT raised by me because her level of personal responsibility is below sea level.  She can shut up and quit bitchin’ as far as I’m concerned!  Enough about rich heiresses named for my favorite foreign city.  What really tweaks me is our liberal courts system that allows criminals off with token sentences and often just a slap on the wrist, a nod and a wink.  No wonder people don’t take our laws seriously – can you blame them when judges are afraid they will offend someone or something (like the ACLU).

But – it’s Friday and the weekend beckons – staying home and grilling out tonight, a motorcycle trip to Mtn. View, AR tomorrow with bluegrass music on the square on Saturday night.  The weather should be sunny and 80 and Arkansas is my favorite state for motorcycling – great roads and scenery.

Happy Birthday to my dearest and bestest friend, Sally, whom I met at Girl Scout Camp Pin Oak the summer I was 10.  We’ve known each other from pre-puberty to menopause.

  1. As someone who was raised by you, I agree that little Miss So-and-So can shut it. She needs a good dose of reality and spending time in the clink is just the beginning. Just imagine how her life would be if you’d been her mother! But at least you’re not as mean as Becky’s mom.

    Happy Birthday, Sally!
