Shifting Gears   3 comments

Greetings – thanks to my “Techno Geek” son-in-law, Steve Kirks, I have quickly and easily set up my blog – thanks Steve.  Getting an iPod for Christmas brought me a little further into the 21st century and now that I have a blog, a may be a full-fledged member of the 2000′s (although I’m sure my daughters will have their own opinions).

The title of my blog, “Shifting Gears” refers to many facets of my life – my husband, Burl, and I love to ride our Honda Goldwing motorcycle which requires him to shift gears while I sit on the back and either gaze at the scenery, read a book, knit, or play Sukoku with the hand-held game my 9-year-old grandson picked out for my Christmas gift (thanks Alex!).  I also love to ride my 21-speed Trek 5200 bicycle and over the course of a day I may shift gears in many directions – from wife to mother to Budget Bitch (or Babe) at CoxHealth to community volunteer.   I figure life is a little like my bicycle – I never stay in one gear for long and all of them are fun.

So welcome to my blog – I’ll try to keep my comments brief and entertaining (at least to me) and also try to remember not to say anything I wouldn’t want my mother to read!

  2. Anne,

Looks like you are really up-to-date on internet “stuff”. I can hardly get my cell phone to work right let alone take advantage of all it has to offer. I guess I’m just to lazy to learn all the new stuff.

Looks like this will be a good way for us to all keep in touch.

    Ed

  3. Thanks for your reply Ed – keep reading and I’ll keep writing!
